The basics
Turbo Totes is a moving tote rental service based in Roanoke, VA. Instead of buying cardboard boxes, you rent sturdy plastic totes from us. We deliver them before your move and pick them up after. It's simpler, less wasteful, and often cheaper than buying boxes.
Everything is included in one price: the totes themselves, delivery to your home, pickup on your scheduled date, and access to our XL tote dollies to make load-in and load-out easier on your back. No hidden add-ons.
Standard rentals are 2 weeks long enough to move out, move in, and get fully unpacked without rushing. If you need extra time, extensions are available. Just contact us before your scheduled pickup date.
We currently serve Roanoke, Salem, Vinton, Troutville, and Daleville. We're also happy to deliver outside these areas for an additional delivery fee drop us a message and we'll get you a quote.
Booking & pricing
Booking will be available online you'll choose your home size, your delivery date, and your pickup date. We're finishing setup right now. Add yourself to the list and we'll notify you the moment booking opens.
Pricing is based on home size. Studios and 1-bedrooms start at $89 for a 2-week rental. 2-bedrooms are $129, 3-bedrooms are $169, and 4+ bedrooms are $209. Delivery, pickup, and dollies are all included. No surprise fees.
Yes a refundable security deposit is held at the time of booking and released when the totes are returned in good condition. Full deposit details are available at checkout.
Yes! We work with local Roanoke realtors and property managers who offer Turbo Totes discount codes to their clients. Ask your real estate agent. We also have occasional promotions the best way to hear about them first is to join our list.
Delivery & pickup
We deliver your totes on your chosen delivery date, typically stacked at your front door or a ground-floor location. You'll receive SMS notifications with your delivery window so you know when to expect us.
For delivery, we can leave the totes at your door just let us know a safe spot. For pickup, the totes need to be accessible and empty. We'll confirm the details when you book.
Yes, within reason. Life happens. If you need to adjust your pickup date, contact us as early as possible we'll do our best to accommodate. Extensions may have an additional fee depending on availability.
The totes themselves
We use XL attach-lid totes large enough for most household items, with lids that snap on securely. Uniform sizing means they stack cleanly and stably, both in your home and in a moving truck.
Yes all totes are cleaned between every rental. We're not in the business of handing you a grimy bin.
Normal wear and tear is expected and covered. Significant damage cracked lids, broken latches from misuse may be deducted from your security deposit. We'll always be upfront about any charges before they happen.
Yes, meaningfully so. Each cardboard box is used once and ends up in recycling or the landfill. Our totes are used dozens of times over their life. It's not the main reason people rent from us, but it's a real benefit every time.
